WHAT'S NEW

Our new polished magnesium "Never Shine" look for our aluminum wheels and our Dow 7 styles, also for the aluminum wheels, were a huge success at the L.A. Roadster Father's Day Show. Click here for pictures and more info

Pat, along with Eric Vaughn, has been working on these finishes for over a year now.  I must say that we have nailed the polished magnesium look to a "T". Everyone that saw these wheels at the show was extremely pleased. Our booth was one of the busiest of the show for the entire weekend.

I want to thank our L.A. friends, Joe, Clem, Ross, and John for helping Pat and me at the busy booth the entire weekend. Thanks again, guys!

REAL RODDERS WHEELS "TOO HOT"?

Multiple fires in Southern California closed Real Rodders Wheels headquarters and warehouse facilities for over a week in October, 2007. Owner and President, Pat O'Brien, and his family had to be evacuated from their home as the fires were quickly advancing towards them. His home and our four on-site facilities barely missed being destroyed by the fires. Thanks to the efforts of the firefighters and other authorities, we were spared.

"We're Hot ... but we don't want to be that HOT!!"

FRANKIE and PAT'S TRAVELS

WEEK OF JUNE 15th, 2007

The 2007 L.A. Roadster Show on Father's Day was our best show ever! Saturday was extremely busy. Not only was there a big crowd, but having our new Magnesium wheels and our Bolt-On Spindle Mount wheels debuting added to the excitement.

I must again thank Clem, his son, and his friend, for being with us to help set up. A big thank you to our buddy Joe for all of his hard work, and for allowing us to display his award-winning '32 Roadster High Boy in our booth. Joe built this beautiful car himself, and the fantastic paint job was applied by Clem.

The Grand Marshall of this year's Roadster Show was the legend, Vic Edelbrock. I would like to take a moment to thank him for spending time with me recently discussing the Automotive Aftermarket Industry, and specifically companies that exclusively manufacture their products in America. Knowing how valuable his time is made our discussion even more appreciated. Visit their Web site at Edelbrock.com.

We will soon post pictures of the show for all to see.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 14th, 2006

I was in L.A. with Pat recently for a few days. We began our travels in LA Land first by visiting Lou Senter, one of the great legends of the wheel business. Between his kitchen table and his garage we had lots of wonderful conversations. We talked about him racing his sprint cars and his midgets back in the day, which led him to tell us that we could re-make his sprint and midget racing wheels if we wanted to.

Lou has so much knowledge and history that the time really flew by. Before we left we showed him our wheels. He responded by saying that he really likes our wheels, and to keep up the good work!

The next day we took a trip to Autobooks/Aerobooks in Burbank on Magnolia Ave. This place is the oldest and largest automotive and aviation book store in North America. Over 7500 book and 350 magazine titles are available here. Car Movies, Racing videos and DVD's, artwork, posters, apparel, used books and magazines. A Motor Trend "TOP 10 AUTOMOTIVE DESTINATIONS". There is a car show every Saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 am with free coffee and donuts.

As you can see this is a really fun stop and a "must" for any car enthusiast.

Visit their Web site at www.autobooks-aerobooks.com

From there we headed to Eric Vaughn's machine shop. WOW! Every time I go there I am like a kid in a candy store! Machines - wheels - cars - motorcycles - a very cool stop whenever we are in Los Angeles. Eric is such a wonderful craftsman - he does all of our special machine work and widens our Real Rodders Wheels. What a wonderful visit that Pat, Eric, and I had.

The last day in town Pat and I had meetings all day with the foundry, regarding our new products. Pat had already found the right "pie crust" tires from Hurst, and we also wanted to add some other Old School wheel styles in the 17"- 20" sizes for the muscle car guys that are installing bigger brake systems on their cars, and need a larger diameter wheel.

Please check our NEW PRODUCTS PAGE, featuring our new styles, all produced by the same folks that manufacture Real Rodders Wheels.

ANDY'S 40th PICNIC & REUNION IN VALLEJO, CA on SEPT. 20th, 2006

One of the really great things about going to Andy's picnic is checking out the 300-plus wonderful hot rods, vintage cars, and such on display. On top of that is being able to say Hi! to Andy, the RodFather of our industry, especially if you grew up on the West coast.

I had a great time this year talking about wheels, seeing my friends, and even seeing some of you from the L.A. Roadster show again.

The best part for me was when Andy told us to keep up the good work, and that he really likes our wheels. I left the reunion on Cloud 9 after that!

The Father's Day L.A. Roadster Show at the Los Angeles Fairplex in Pomona, CA on June 16-17, 2007 was our busiest show yet. Our magnesium wheels were very popular with the crowd, as well as our new Bolt-On Spindle Mount aluminum wheel.

Real Rodders Wheels was well represented  in the vendors area of the 15th Annual California Hot Rod Reunion at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA on October 6-8, 2006. Pat and John were literally swamped for three days with interested individuals and buyers, all trying to make sure they were up to date on the latest and the greatest. Our many thanks for all of the positive reactions and the tremendous support we were given by the crowds of people we spoke with that week in Bakersfield.
